WSTC - An Introduction to Tesla Coils

An Introduction to Tesla coils.
Pictured here at a Royal Institution Christmas lecture, Derek, who has also featured in Dara Ó Briain's Science Club programmes on BBC Two, will give a general talk on Tesla coils, from the original spark gap tesla coils that would be recognised by Nicola Tesla, to modern day computer controlled electronic tesla coils. Derek has been building tesla coils as a hobby for over 20 years. He has constructed over 30 different tesla coils from 30mm to over 1M tall of many different types. He runs both the Nottingham Gaussfest and Cambridge Tesla coiler meet-ups.
Warning: For health and safety reasons attendees with pacemakers or cochlear implants and electric wheelchair users must inform the meeting organisers before the talk begins.
