Derek Woodroffe of https://www.extremeelectronics.co.uk will give a talk and demonstration to the Wollaton Science and Technology Club entitled:- An Introduction to Tesla coils. Pictured here at a Royal Institution Christmas lecture, Derek, who has also featured in Dara Ó Briain's Science Club programmes on BBC Two, will give a general talk on Tesla coils, from the original spark gap tesla coils that would be recognised by Nicola Tesla, to modern day computer controlled electronic tesla coils. Derek has been building tesla coils as a hobby for over 20 years. He has constructed over 30 different tesla coils from 30mm to over 1M tall of many different types. He runs both the Nottingham Gaussfest and Cambridge Tesla coiler meet-ups. Warning: For health and safety reasons attendees with pacemakers or cochlear implants and electric wheelchair users must inform the meeting organisers before the talk begins. Guests are welcome at this meeting either in person or on Zoom. Hello all. Please help me fundraise for Framework because we can help people who have become homeless. Support for the Homeless is the closest community activity to my heart. This very personal matter has long been something I've wanted to fundraise for, and what better time to do it than on my mega-milestone birthday, for which I will be Skydiving (!), along with Hemz, Nik and Sheila. So, if you can help with any amount at all, I thank you from the bottom of my heart - God Bless.
