Come at dawn! Come at noon! Come late in the day! Come to the vineyard, where the last and the first harvest God's good fruit together. Come! StF 638 Through all the changing scenes of life Prayers: Adoration, Confession and thanksgiving Almighty and ever-living God, we worship you who set the stars in space. You inhabit glory unimaginable and yet you desire to live in our hearts. We respond with love and praise you alone. You are worthy to be worshipped, You are worthy to be honoured and adored, we worshipped you. God of fruitful labour, work sometimes brings out the worst in us. At home, at school, in the workplace, even in our relationship with you, we too easily question what others do and get, instead of taking care of our own business. Take away our bitterness. Teach us the art of the careful complaint. Give us a grateful hearts, we pray. Dear Loving Father, We praise and worship you, for you are a great and loving God. We thank you for sending us your son, Jesus Christ, to show us that love, and to help us to see how you want us to share that love with all around us. We thank you for your love, your protection, and your forgiveness. Through Christ’s name, we pray. Amen! Reading: Matthew 20:1-16 StF 503 Love divine Message – The Generosity of God Intercession God of grace and mercy, whether we are lifelong labourers, or new arrivals in your vineyard, we know you value us just as we are. Hear now the prayers of thanks and concern that we now speak aloud or raise silently from our hearts. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer Loving God, Help those we know and love to turn away from habits which are harmful to them. Help them to turn to you in times of crisis, rather than reaching for quick-fix solutions. Eternal, ever-living, ever-present God, in the struggles and joys of this day, we pray: for those who are overburdened, weighed down, demoralised, fearful or desolate because of what life has thrown at them… For those engulfed in pain and anguish, facing illness and death… For those troubled in mind and spirit, who find no peace or calm… For those alone and lonely, without friend or comfort… For those frightened and bewildered, who see no direction or purpose in their lives… Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer God of the last, God of the first, God of all those in between, hear these concerns as we seek your presence in our lives and in a world in need.
