The immediate action taken was to insulate the roof space above the most used and heated area, rooms 1 and 2.

Further work will take place over the next few years, on guidance from specialists, to reduce heat loss and to utilise renewable sources of energy. 'Incredible Edible' will be a part of the service.  Below is how it started and a video TED Talk about 'How we can eat our landscapes' with Pam Warhurst one of the founders.
A bit of history.
A group of folks meet in a café. Pam and Mary work alongside a number of volunteers to share hopes and stories about what they dreamed for their town. They said things like – if you eat, you’re in and believe in the power of small actions. Pam and Mary led the group of friends to start Incredible Edible Todmorden, using growing as a visible sign of a kinder connected community.

Kingswood and Grangewood Methodist Churches are sponsoring Eco-Church projects with Nottingham University as part of the Nottingham Consultancy Challenge.

Above are the enthusiastic students who are working on the Kingswood  Eco-Project.  They are researching  and providing the Kingswood Methodist Church (KMC) with a list of recommendations in the form of an improvement plan to reduce and improve the impact of the Kingswood property on the environment.

Students on the Challenge  gain experience of  team work , client collaboration, to research and deliver a practical project. This experience will, for the students,  simulate elements of a professional working environment.

The project will take 6 weeks with the report on findings and presentation taking place the week ending 25th March.
